Virtual Mentor Session Capture the Effect of Light with Camille Przewodek Sunday, March 7, 2021, 10 am PT (11 am MT; 12 noon CT, 1 pm ET).
LPAPA Signature Artist Camille Przewodek leads an online Virtual Mentor Session to share lessons and critique works submitted by registrants to help you Capture the Effect of Light with Color!
“Make a lot of starts—wait till later to try to finish things.”—Charles Hawthorne. The “start” is the foundation of your painting. If there is one overriding goal Camille has taught in her classes & workshops, it is to convey the fundamental importance of making a strong and accurate statement of hue relationships at the very beginning. Value and saturation are also important, but, as colorists, the mission is to see and capture the “light key,” and that’s most effectively accomplished by beginning to work immediately with the color relationships. This direct color approach is indicative of the Cape School method that everything we see is seen in a particular light, and that we can greatly expand the gamut with which we can express the light falling on our subject by learning to see and accurately express hue differences at the outset. To emphasize this, we’ve come up with a memorable motto, “Hues on first!”
Registration Fee: LPAPA Members $15; NonMembers $30. All registrants will receive exclusive access to the recording after the event.
